"Hand made magic"

Shaping is an art form in itself, and the crew at Rayskin have taken it that little bit further to deliver a a piece of magic with every single one of their hand crafted boards.

"We decided on a model of part hand made, machine made, artist designed and technologically driven to give us the greatest versatility to modify, produce and customize each board upon order. Using digitally constructed cores from laser-cut Baltic birch airplane plywood, rails constructed from bent lamination/ solid wood for ease of shaping and strength, and skinned in furniture quality cedar and spruce. Our veneered designs are applied under a layer of 2-mil fiberglass/ epoxy resin and  spar varnish and buffed to a mirror finish. We developed a prototype by studying hydrodynamics, the latest interest and innovation in creating speed, maneuverability, a comfortable and dynamic ride, flex and strength in the board itself, paddle speed on getting up on a wave and combining long board dynamics. We were interested in the old school style of nose riding and the aesthetic of surfing by old school masters who have since added short boards and fishes to their quivers. We added performance by using a concave nose, flow through to a flat, double V bottom out to V tail with 60/40 Rails to give good solid maneuverability to the board and matching our rocker to the surf conditions on 3-6 foot waves of the east/ west coasts." - Ric and Charles

So if you're after that one special board/art piece that you probably wouldn't want to wax up then then hit up the crew at Rayskin. The boards look amazing, and so they should with a price tag around the $8,000 mark, and I've read that they can be more likely around $20,000! However you can't put a price on art, and these boards would hold a special little spot in anyones shack, if you you're a millionaire. If for some reason you're stuck one day, the surfs pumping and you don't have a board, you can always pull down the artwork for that sneaky little session. In which case you're probably at work anyway paying off the Rayskin bill. Maybe one day....

  Yep, we've thrown down a 5star rating. You're thinking that's bullshit, but the Flexcomb just made the best ever wax comb that does it's job properly, and is made 100% from recycled plastic. In a world of curves, concaves and pressure dings, the Flexcomb scores and removes wax like no other. It's such a simple change that we can't believe it wasn't done earlier. So who gives a shit about wax combs...
