HAND MADE PIPE FINS [19.06.2009] Category: Surfboard Fins

"Pipe fins"

The name comes from the material they are made from, strong high quality PVC PIPING. PIPE surfboard FINS are different to any other fins available, for a start they're hand made. The curved shape of the PIPE FINS tap into the power under the wave and have great flex properties.

The inward curve of the PIPE FINS give a jet tunnel effect that makes the boards move faster along the wave face. They have a 50/50 foiled leading edge that runs up until near the tip of each fin. The 3d grabbing effect of the pipe fins make shortboards and longboards more stable and faster than standard fins.
 
Each set of pipe fins are hand made in NZ from one template and are FCS compatible.


Our thoughts:
These things look farking crazy and pretty cool that they're made from PVC pipe. If that's not innovation then what is? We're keen to get a pair in to see how they perform. Initial thoughts is that they might be too soft and flexi, thus not carrying drive and the high end flex properties we're used to. Only one way to find out...send in a set for review.
