"A cool surf experience"

Thomas Campbell’s 16mm surf flick, invites the viewer to shed their clothes, daily mundane lives and step into the ocean for a ride. The opening sequence combines awesome imagery with some chilled horn driven jazz as you watch Rasta slide his 6'2" pintail across a sweet wave and gets slotted... Hooked

With it’s beautiful cinematography, and easy listening soundtrack, Sprout takes you on a wild ‘surf’ experience. Sprout is not about power surfing, so if you after a high energy surf flick, this is not for you. If however you are looking for an adventure, exploring different breaks around the globe while surfing on discs, mals, eggs, sliders, twinnies, quads, singles and even blow up surf mats, then get on board.

“Sprout is an exploration of the riding of wave mountains and molehills, the idea is to show how many different ways we have to access the oceans existence using any shape or equipment”

Watching this DVD you start to feel like you should be out surfing and experimenting on different boards. It inspires you to think about the basis of what ‘surfing’ is all about and has the power to open a new train of thought for some.

The sound track is chilled and colourful,  catering to an array of different music tastes. You find yourself being pulled into the moment and picturing yourself on the waves and boards that you see. This has a very mellow feel, something that you could throw on during a Sunday afternoon while hanging with friends.

With its cool PSA (Public Shaka Announcement) and other indirect surfing references, it keeps the movie entertaining. It’s great to see the soul of surfing exposed for what it truly is – a lifestyle.  Sprout is a great addition to any surfers DVD collection.

While much of the movie is about longboarding, there’s enough surfing on other boards to keep you focused. Sprout boasts a large extra’s section with some cool additional footage of breaks within the film.

As Thomas Campbell says in the beginning of the film “we as surfers are so ridiculously lucky … to experience the moment and sensations and to have the life we have.” This movie will inspire you to get out and surf, travel or just have fun around our world’s oceans.

  • SURFBOAD FINS | RASTA VECTOR KEEL [07.Sep.2008] Category: Surfboard Fins

  • THE ULTIMATE SURF CRUISER [25.Aug.2009] Category: Other

What we like about this new ECO (A very loose use of the term) bike concept is they've thought outside the square in regards to bikes and boards. Almost all current board carriers you get for your bike are side loaded, which is fine, but not that great when you have narrow areas to get through, dealing with winds and can be a royal pain in the ass when just cruising round town.

  • O'NEILL SUPERFREAK BOOTIES [24.Jun.2009] Category: Surf wetsuits

Surfing in booties sucks, we all know that. In some cases this can't be avoided and so it pays to make sure you're wearing the best money can buy. The O'Neill superfreak range look pretty hardcore and could be what you've been looking for.
