mesurf Review
5am and the alarm sounds. I have barely slept in anticipation of the new ground swell rolling through overnight. It has been almost 2 months since we have seen anything above 4ft. A quick check of the reports and all signs are pointing to awesome! Time to quickly pack the car and head down to my favorite quiet point break about an hour away. I run around the house pulling everything I need together:

Quick repair kit
Wax comb
Camera
Towel

All of a sudden I have a mountain of gear that a small child could live in. F*ck it, I now have to make 3 or 4 trips back and forth to the car to get everything in, made even worse by the fact the garage is 2 levels below and I don't have a lift! Every minute wasted here is lost in the water and to make matters worse the tide turns in 3 hours, the winds are due to swing onshore before midday so I need to hurry the f*ck up! I eventually get everything down to the car and have it thrown into the cheap wet tub I currently use, as one complete mess and jet off.

In my manic flurry I didn't notice the sunscreen didn't have a lid and is now leaking all through my gear. Also the tub is full of dirt, salt and all sorts of crap as is usually the case. I get to my little spot and it is 6ft-7ft offshore barrels with only 4 guys out. It is pumping! My heart is racing in anticipation of getting out there and hooking into it. I bolt round to the boot to grab my board and wax up. I reach into my shit box and grab the wax only to realise the little f*cker is covered in sunscreen, dirt and everything else that lives in the tub. The whole time watching barrel after barrel roll through with my name on it! I quickly wipe the wax down with a towel and start waxing the board. No matter how well I cleaned the little sucker, sunscreen is still all through the wax and I can feel it all over the layer of wax I have just put on. "THIS SUCKS!". Now what? I quickly run a wax comb through it an hope for the best. I got 4 waves before the oily sunscreen began to show its slippery aftermath and had to head back in to sort it all out.

The bloody painful reality here is I missed my shot at epic waves and minimal crowd, and these roll around maybe once or twice a year. This is not the first time it has happened either.

I then ask myself "How can I make sure this doesn't happen again?"
GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER!

Now I have a TRUNQ, and honestly, I have not had an issue since. These guys have put in some time and effort to create a tub that will store everything you need that can be locked up and just stays in your car all the time, keeping all your equipment in their own little compartment. Also great for those weekender trips or longer camping trips.

Saves time, saves frustration, saves embarrassment. Think about it, fork out a few bones and save yourself a shit load of time and  stress and guarantee you wont f*ck up when the swell hits again. There are plenty of other uses for the TRUNQ, one of which is a place to store a slab of beer with ice on those hot weekenders, but will let you go and check it out for yourself.

Sure you can resort to your $10 shit basin, but I can assure you, without the sections you will always have one problem or another. These things are designed to outlast you! Buy one, that will last you for your surfing life. The TRUNQ rocks!

  Without innovation we don't progress, however for innovation to actually be accepted into the market there needs to be a desire to be fulfilled. The following are a few innovative ideas that designers have worked on and put together based on what they know of the sport of surfing. In the case of the SIVV I'm not convinced this designer surf too much and whether he has surfed a board with no fins?
