SURF BOOK | THE CALIFORNIA SURF PROJECT

I might be off the pace on this, but when I came across it I had to share. The California Surf Project is an amazing looking book that was released late last year. We haven't got one in the office yet to check out in the flesh, but here's a snapshot of what to expect...

"The California Surf Project is the fully illustrated travel diary of two surfers who took this trip of a lifetime. Chris Burkard, a talented photographer, and Eric Soderquist, a professional surfer, cajoled their Volkswagen bus along Highway 1 from the Oregon border to the Tijuana Sloughs and discovered everything the Golden State's legendary coastline has to offer.

Showcasing their incredible adventure of surfing perfect waves, sharing campfires with total strangers, and keeping the bus running with duct tape and prayers in more than 200 gorgeous photographs, soulful text, and a professionally produced thirty-minute DVD."

As you can see from the images above, the photography is primo, and I'm working on getting my grubby paws on a copy to check it out. If and when this auspicious occasion occurs I'll be sure to share. Until then you can head over to their blog for a few (pre-2010) updates.

Yes, as I said, I'm off the pace with this one but figured if I only just caught wind of this little nugget then there's bound to be a few others!
