THE ELEVON | FUTURES FINS [11.04.2010] Category: Surfboard Fins

Futures have just unveiled their latest surfboard fin called The Elevon. A futuristic looking fin using winglets, just like those used on airplanes (used to minimise drag) and boat keels. The idea is to create lift, and by lifting the board, you reduce drag which essentially leads to more speed. Sounds great in theory...

The fin is a radical idea and as you can see from the shots is taking fin design right outside the standard 2 dimensional box we've been using for decades. Futures are calling "This is most advanced fin made today, the ELEVON you need to see, touch and then ride to really understand the dynamics."

  Without innovation we don't progress, however for innovation to actually be accepted into the market there needs to be a desire to be fulfilled. The mAIRine is a new life-saving design aimed at the big wave market. Something that could definitely be on the cards for a full release in the not too distant future.
