SNAPPER ROCKS, Queensland/Australia (Wednesday, March 9, 2011) – Kelly Slater (USA) has overcome event standout Taj Burrow (AUS) to win the 2011 Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast.
Earlier, there were eight surfers remaining in hunt for the Quiksilver Pro crown heading into the final day of competition at Snapper Rocks.

MODAY | March 7, 2011 - Upsets continued today at the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast as two-time World Champion Mick Fanning (AUS) was eliminated in the first of 12 exciting heats during Round 3.

SNAPPER ROCKS, Queensland/Australia (Tuesday, March 8, 2011) – Australian Taj Burrow put on an electric performance today at the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast to clinch a place in the Quarter Finals and keep his title defence alive. Burrow proved he is still the man to beat – coming out on top in an explosive back-and-forth clash with Brazilian Adriano de Souza. Incredibly, both surfs scored two 9-point rides each - making it one of the highest scoring heats in the history of the Quiksilver Pro.

SUNDAY | March 6, 2011 - 16 year-old Wildcard Matt Banting (AUS) caused the upset of the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast yesterday, eliminating ASP World Title contender Bede Durbidge (AUS), 28, in the opening heat of Round 2. The rest of the Round saw testing conditions with some major upsets going down.

World Tour rookie Julian Wilson (Coolum, QLD) continued his impressive form claiming victory in both heats of the Corona Expression Sessions to win $2000 for his efforts. FLORES OUT OF QUIKSILVER PRO GOLD COAST
 
SUNDAY | FEB 27, 2011 - Jeremy Flores (FRA), 23, has officially withdrawn from the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast after suffering a knee injury during a warm-up session last night. According to event medical staff, the presumptive diagnosis is that Jeremy has suffered a Grade-2 medial ligament tear in his right knee.





REYNOLDS RULED OUT OF QUIKSILVER PRO GOLD COAST
 
WEDNESDAY | January 19, 2011 - Dane Reynolds has undergone keyhole surgery to repair damaged knee cartilage and ligaments sustained sustained while surfing at Pupakea in Hawaii late last year. While the surgery has gone well, The 25-year-old will out of action for at least six weeks, meaning he will miss the opening event of the 2011 ASP World Tour, The Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast.
