TOP 10 HIGHLIGHTS - PIPELINE MASTERS - DAY 8

Here’s your Top 10. Enjoy!

SLATER & MACHADO DISCUSS ICONIC HIGH FIVE

At the 1995 Pipeline Masters Kelly Slater and Rob Machado exchanged a high five that more-or-less exchanged the World Title that year. In an iconic moment for the sport and both surfers, Machado chose to slap palms with Slater mid-wave instead of claiming priority during a critical moment of their semi-final clash. Do you think Machado has any regrets?

ANDY IRONS VS KELLY SLATER - PIPELINE MASTERS 2006
PIPELINE, Hawaii  (14 December, 2006) – It’s regarded as the greatest final in the Pipeline Masters’ 40-year history. The final of the 2006 Rip Curl Pro Pipeline Masters saw Andy Irons steal victory from long-time rival Kelly Slater in the dying moments via a perfect 10. It was a high-scoring affair between the pair and a sensational battle. Was it the best final of all time?

BILLABONG PIPE MASTERS 2010 | PIPE HYPE
PIPELINE, HAWAII; Kelly Slater and Dane Reynolds; perhaps the two biggest names in surfing today, put on an absolute clinic at last year’s Billabong Pipeline Masters. With a week out from the 2010 fixture, will it be these two who again light it up at pipeline?

BILLABONG PIPE MASTERS 2010 | PIPELINE MASTERS DVD REVIEW
PIPELINE, HAWAII; Banzai pipeline ridden back in the early 60's is today seen as the event of all events in the ASP world tour. So where did it all start? Right back before pipeline was even an event, the break Banzai was always looked to heavy and fast to ride on the equipment they were riding at the time. The boards that worked at Waimea and Sunset didn't sit in the pocket properly for the hollow pipeline break. The film shows the early guys having a go on their equipment which has you wondering where we would be today if board evolution never occurred.
